Our story

Why I built TopLeft

“I built TopLeft because I needed it in my own MSP. We ran ConnectWise and it was chaos. I couldn't see what my team was working on.”

I've run MSPs since 2007, and we've been on ConnectWise since 2010. Projects turned into a black hole where you don't know where anything is. Jobs ran over, we sank way too much time into them, and some we just wrote off.

I'd always preferred an Agile, Kanban way of working. It was already running fine for the dev team at the SaaS company I had at the time, in Jira. But tools like Jira don't connect to ConnectWise, and integrating them was a nonstarter, so we built our own. TopLeft puts a visual Kanban layer right on top of the PSA, two-way, with no double entry. We still run our own shops on it every day here in Chilliwack: Improving IT, our Windows MSP, and Crafty Penguins, our Linux MSP. Now we're helping hundreds of MSPs get out of the same mess.
